The last few days I have had the pleasure of working together with a bunch of kids from Avondale primary to produce a sculpture for the public to show what the earth looks like beneath the small suburb. Beneath the commotion, giving the kids a chance to make a statement about their home place.
I was introduced to 10 great kids who collected materials from specific sites in Avondale. Below are some documentations of our explorations, maps and building process. I did not grow up here so it was very important that I worked with locals to find components and to build up the layers of this sculpture.
